words

a few lists...

Words I use all too often, particularly in the context of this blog:
Lovely
Totally
Nice, Sweet, and plenty of other empty adjectives.
I've so far managed to steer clear of Gorgeous though I did catch myself using Funky in a sentence the other day, I think air quotes were also utilised so I guess it's okay?

Words I enjoy using too often:
Entirely
Truly
Chuffed
Bummer

Words I appreciate but am yet to work into every day vernacular:
Ergo
Hitherto
Innocuous

Abbreviated words that I despise:
Soz
Totes

Abbreviated words that should fall into the above category, but for some reson don't. Probably because they're used frequently by people who I follow on Twitter and like, totally respect:
Cray
Obvs
Natch
Probs

Words that I wish I had an alternative for, because I feel weird saying them out loud:
Blog
Horny

Vous ĂȘtes en moi comme une hantise (You are obsessively part of me)

"We both probably failed to realise a crucial point: everything that was happening was for both of us but the prehistory of our lives – of his very short life, of my long life. Art had not yet ignited our passions, its all-consuming fire had not yet transformed us; it must have been the light and airy hour of dawn. But the future, which announces its coming long before it arrives, was knocking at the window. It lurked behind the lanterns, invaded our dreams and took on the frightening form of Baudelaire’s Paris which lay in wait somewhere in the vicinity. "

handwritten

This magic drink actually sounds delicious
There's a display next to the counter at my local post office of calligraphy kits. I assume these are intended to be purchased as gifts for the bookish, yet creative child, or bored housewife.

Jenna's incredible envelopes... I wish I could address all my mail like this
I've always loved hand drawn type, and lately have become obsessed with calligraphy and scripts. I'm a capable young woman, I have a steady hand, but seriously, is this learnable or do you have to be born with it??
The ever-blogged Anna Bond of Rifle Design is probably my idol in this department. She makes the most beautiful wedding invitations

he kissed me bang smash on the mouth

And when he kissed my neck I bit him long and hard on the cheek, and when we came out of the room, blood was running down his face. His poem, "I did it, I." Such violence, and I can see how women lie down for artists. The one man in the room who was as big as his poems, huge, with hulk and dynamic chunks of words; his poems are strong and blasting like a high wind in steel girders. And I screamed in myself, thinking: oh to give myself crashing, fighting, to you.
