the answer is always Pacey

OK so the fact is that I have been obsessed (to varying degrees over the past 9 years or so) with Pacey Whitter.

Dawson was horrifying to behold and when Pacey came on I would actually feel this huge sense of relief
that I didn't have to watch Dawson, his peanut shaped head, his old-man leechery and his unebelievable, ungodly haircut.

shudder

I loved it when he took Joey to visit her Bad Father Who Is In Jail and they played Sarah McLaughlin and I loved it when he got frosted tips and I loved it when he was so supportive of Andie when she went through her bad times and I loved it wh
en he pulled over the car and totally pashed Joey Potter (2.08) and I loved his husky voice and I basically loved it whenever he went on some apparently Hair Brained Scheme that actually wound up being meaningful to him and Dawson would never understand until Pacey spelled it out for him and made him feel bad. AND OMG I loved it when he called his boat the True Love and worked on it all year long until it was finally ready to sail away with Joey in, bought her a wall, wrote "ASK ME TO STAY ON IT", and left Dawson depressed (ha!), alone (ha!) and full of self loathing(hahahahah!!!) (3.40)

And now look at him! My heart is exploding, the capsules are bursting. I'm a heartbeat away from making the top picture my desktop. Not the second one, even though its like my DREAM.

Just a thought: It's also quite amazing the way that there is no way that I can consider Joshua Jackson as an entity separate from Pacey. He will always and forever be Pacey and if I met him (gasp!) I'd be like one of those crazed Edward Cullen fans that try to get Robert Pattinson to bite their neck.

Sometimes it's impossible to explain how much you love your friends.

OK SO

On Saturday night I went out to dinner with my old old old friends at this fabulous Japanese place called Nishiki which is a silly but delicious place in Freemans bay. We drank a bottle of wine or two and wound up returning to their flat for more wine, stopping for ice cream on the way.

We got to the flat, sat at the dinner table and had that whole girl talk thing that has to happen when you hang out with people you've been buddies with for 10 years, lots of talk of sex and shit and periods (not in that order, well, actually, kind of in that order. But not together. We're gross, but that's fine).

Then all of a sudden we started jumping in a circle to Paparazzi
by Lady Gaga, which might be the best song of all time, doing that crutches dance that she does so well in the video. We were all giggly and turned off the lights and then someone pulled out a couch cover and threw it on top of us (we were planning on going to a ghost themed party later, this was a costume idea)and put on that godawful song by the Black Eyed Peas with the "GO OUT AND SMASH IT (SMMMAAASH ITTT) LIKE OH MY GOSH" lyric in it and we totally went nuts.

All of us were jumping under this couch cover, falling over, stumbling about and screaming out the lyrics when some shit of a neighbour called noise control. On seven girls. At eleven on a Friday night. Apparently, this might have had something to do with Cat yelling obscenities at the neighbour's child earlier in the evening but who are we to know? All I know is that the noise control man let us off easy and looked suitably embarrassed by the situation.

So after that we finished the song, called a mini van and mished off to find this ghostly party. The taxi driver SUCKED but it was OK - we found the party, got under our couch cover, and entered the party en masse.

Unfortunately, it was the wrong party. In fact, it was some chick's 21st that we crashed, they all seemed to hate us, apart from the boys out the front who posed for photos with us. So we made a quick escape, pulled over a nice young man who got out his map and gave us directions. I also messaged my flatmate who was at the actual party for directions. He said he would yell my name, and we should follow the sound.

So, we made it to the Ghost party. Finally. One of us fell over on top of some dude who threw her into a wall. Luckily Bex was there to punch him in the face: "I AM A PHYSIOTHERAPIST ! I KNOW HOW TO HURT YOU!". Another one disappeared to pash a hot random.

Eventually, we went home.

bliny/blini/love of my life which I shall probably never experience the like of again

Tepemok is a cult fast food chain in Russia. People who eat there get obsessed. I literally ate a cheese and creamy mushroom one everyday while I was there. By the end of two weeks Nigel and I were eating the "E-Mail" (feta and green things and an irrelevant name) and the cheesey mushroomy creamy one and a dessert one filled with condensed milk or cream and berries every day. It was amazing.

More reasons why this particular food joint ruled:
It was always open.
There were heaps of them. Whenever we were lost we would try and find one and once we did, oh boy oh boy did we get excited.
There were stalls AND restaurants.
It was cheap.
Sides: tea and borscht.
And once an old, old man listened in to our conversation and berated us for being cold. It was December in St Petersburg. It was cold.
I miss them so so much. Other snacks just don't measure up. Pancakes are always a disappointment. Galettes always taste wrong compared to them. It's sad when you fleetingly have something so good in your life, it spoils other things forever. I wouldn't have traded you for the world, Bliny.
