Oh my, this video completely took my breath away.

1970s / 1900s

Darling Han is coming to visit Melbourne Very Soon and I had the best idea this morning for a fun, slightly random, away from the city but still inexpensive activity today: a Picnic at Hanging Rock!
(That's us obviously)
Tea party at hanging rock! With a man who slightly resembles a grumpy Donald
Our picnic will probably involve less tea and more quencher (pictured here as 'non-descript alcohol'), and boys in jaunty pants if we're lucky
we will take ipods

Picnic at Hanging Rock1

If you didn't already know (gasp!), Picnic at Hanging rock is the name of a book written in the 60s about a group of school girls in 1900 who vanish during a Valentine's Day picnic at the site of an enormous rock formation. The rock formation featured in the story, Hanging Rock, is an actual geological formation located in Victoria, Australia (thanks Wikipedia). The book was made into a great movie in 1970 which is full of floaty lace dresses and straw boater hats...

I'm sorry, I just had to put this one in here for it's 'This Guy' potential

Side note: The clothesey stuff was totally inspired by this post - thanks Almie, and kind of progressed from Edwardian inspired to slightly more realistic attire for the Melbourne Summer/our tastes to Holy Hell I want those Chloe boots baddd, and that sweet crop top...
PS Thank you thank you han for the Fantastic phone call minutes ago (with operatic office caroling in the background - amazing!)
PPS This idea needs to become a reality, anyone in Melbourne with a car who wants to come/take us, let me know!

i love lamp

Today happiness comes in the form of:

1) This adorable lamp I bought off etsy. Look at it's wee face! It's name shall be Albino Stevie the Second, after the recently deceased bottom-feeding, cave dwelling, cannabalistic, no-eyed, translucent deamon fish I foolishly adopted a couple of months ago. RIP Albino Stevie the First. I suspect Albino Stevie the Second will be more of a pleasure to have around.

2) Today my boss lead our office in yoga (she was a professinal dancer and remains fabulous and ridiculously flexible) and then we followed it with delicious pies. I was the worst, my legs shook like a little chihuahua's. This is funny because a) it looks funny and b) I'm about thirty years younger than everyone else who was doing yoga.

3) Last night we pretended to be little plants growing from seed to blossoming flower while dancing to Hallelujah by Rufus Rainwright. I don't know how that happened (actually , I do, but it is not a story for the internet).

4) I'm going to the Twilight/New Moon DOUBLE FEATURE OPENING NIGHT AT ST LUKES. Words cannot express how happy I am about this. It is a late-night showing which means that it will be full of older creeps like myself (and about 20 of my friends) who will probably be a bit drunk and silly. EDWARD CULLEN 4 LYF/TEAM CULLEN/SQUEE. frilly things

Lingerie. I adore it. I haven't bought any in a long time and am starting to feel like a splurge is necessary. Well, justifiable. Almost.

I just came across the new Lonely Hearts Club knickers on So Much To Tell You and am weak at the knees. I've been holding off on any LHC purchases due to the impending NZ trip but now have more to add to the 'when I finally get to go to Myhart' list. Sigh.

The Auckland shopping list is ever growing, and while it may mostly be window shopping, I am saving almost exclusively for Myhart and Miss Crabb, as well as eating, lots of eating and drinking...

But I was talking about lacy things, Journelle has always made my heart flutter, though I don't know if I could bring myself to purchase intimates online, without trying them on and generally just touching them first...
My last underwear purchase worth mentioning was a girly white silk set printed with tiny stars from Stella McCartney. The rest of her range is amazing and very sexy, with gorgeous names like 'eve giggling' 'coco bluching' etc.
